Not the toughest but good for an afternoon
I finally played the Crossroads course, as I have always played the Signature course. I like Signature more but I haven’t always been a huge fan of Majestic Oaks. It’s nice for weddings and receptions but I just haven’t fallen in love with the courses. The courses seem sprawled out to me, and it’s almost as if you are in a neighborhood with a golf course inside of it. Houses every inch of the course. Crossroads was fun, 6396 for the atypical gold tees. I prefer longer courses but 6300 is on par with similar caliber courses in the area. Some dog leg holes, a little bit of water you have to avoid, and some well placed fairway bunkers. Greens were better than they have been in the past, pretty dented from the lack of people fixing marks. They were fairly true as well, which I was a tad surprised by. This course is worth playing if you have an afternoon to burn and have to stay local. I personally would not choose this course as one to play if I had an afternoon to burn, but it is worth the consideration of others. The clubhouse is nice, they just renovated it and it’s very well done. The restaurant is and always will be my favorite part. I really enjoy their food, their appetizers are great and the food is overall very good. The range is fine. Nothing special, pay for balls and at least we were on grass. Decent course with plenty of trees and things to avoid. I’ll be back at some point, just not sure when as I will side with others.
Clean the green.
The greens and surrounding area had large clumps of recently cut grass on them. We had to sweep away the clippings before putting and chipping when near the green. It wasn’t windy so the clippings weren’t blown there. Cutting crew needs further training.
Majestic Oaks
Was a great course Very fun to play. But lots and lots of sitting and waiting at the tee boxes. Twice we sat for almost 20 minutes waiting .
They say they offer hamburgers and hot dogs but could not find it anywhere. And the restaurant said they do t just make a hamburger it had to be one of there specialty burgers.
That being said like likes the course in general. Fun to play.
Course rating
It was easy to get on the course and we had a great time. Course in good condition, greens nice.
Course conditions
Beautiful day enhanced by very good course conditions.
Lacking
Course was in good shape, but extremely difficult to navigate from hole to hole. There are two 18 hole courses here, and directions to the next hole was confusing between the two courses. There was only one ball washer unit on the whole 18 holes we played, and no legends showing the layout of the holes. All you had to go off was the tiny layout on the score card. Golf carts are a joke for what this course claims is a premier course. They are extremely slow and jerky gas powered carts.
Also, we paid for 18 holes for two. After 9 holes we wanted to stop and eat there in the restaurant, and then get a voucher to come back at a later date to do the other 9 holes based on availability. We were not allowed to get a voucher even though we paid for 18 holes. No customer service. We would have spent a lot more eating there, but because we had to continue playing or lose the next 9 holes, we opted out of eating there and instead went elsewhere to eat. They lost additional revenue because of their lack of service. Just sad!
