Eagle Nest Golf Club
About
Located in Little River, S.C., Eagle Nest opened in 1971 and was designed by Golf Course Architect Gene Hamm. The layout is laid out across 250 acres of gently rolling land, rare for a course near Myrtle Beach. The course has been upgraded recently and includes a set of "Perch" tee boxes that play over 8,100 yards, making it the state's longest golf course.
Super senior and player-friendly tee boxes up front have also been installed. This traditional low country layout features not only rolling undulations in it but mature Carolina pines, an abundance of wildlife and beautiful natural landscaping.

Long fairways!
Great course. More than 8,000 yards. Very quiet in the winter, with no waiting. We finished in 3 hours.
Wow
Been about 3 years since playing this course. I will be back. Layout is very good. Doglegs both rt to left and left to rt also straight holes as well. Bunkering is well placed and the greens have a subtle uphill Ness to them and slope from back to front. Take enough club and iron shot on front of green will more then likely spin back off. Greens in great shape ( please don't forget fix your pitch mark and 1 more) Ronnie the starter there super nice guy need to pay him more. I walked course because of the 45 degree temps yesterday.
All and all fun course Im a 4.5ghin but generous room off the tee for all skill levels.
Beautiful fun course
Beautifully laid out course. Conditions were great. Many dome shaped greens made putting difficult we were paired up with a nice couple from Canada and had a good time. The most forward tees felt a little like cheating sometimes but it kept the pace moving
A nice layout
The course was in good shape and it’s a very good layout. Some very challenging holes. 16 17 and 18 are three tough holes to end the course on.
Very enjoyable
Everything was great with the course and staff only downside was no food restaurant was undergoing a remodel
Nearly perfect greens
I grabbed a round at Eagles Nest while my wife shopped. It was a pleasure. While the course had plenty of places to make mistakes, I never felt like the design tried to fool me. Pretty generous landing areas for many tee shots. I found the greens to be in excellent condition, nearly perfect. I could have used a hybrid or long iron in the rental set, but that’s my bad for not bringing my own clubs. I didn’t encounter any other golfers until the 17th hole when I caught up with two buddy groups trying to finish together.
Good value, unique course
We visited from out of state and played Eagles Nest because it looked very “South Carolina” and had good conditions reports. The staff was super friendly and made us feel welcome, not pretentious whatsoever. The course is a kind of difficult for guys who play 5-10 times a year, but it’s scenic and the design is unique which makes it enjoyable. The course was a bit dried when we went, which might be normal for this time of year.
AS ADVERTISED
I got a good rate, probably due to the greens being sanded, which is certainly necessary, I'm not complaining.
I look forward to a return trip. Lots of double-breaking putts, even triple-breaking on long attempts. My only critique would be the cups themselves, it appeared they hadn't been reset in a few days leaving the edges in poor shape, but again that may have been due to the sanding. The fox squirrels there are abundant and very curious. The guy checking in bags in an absolute all-star, never seen such hustle. Very friendly as was the rest of the staff.
Very nice
I really enjoyed this course greens were fast and fairways looked good , I was the first group for the day I was a single paired with 2 other singles so pace of play was perfect, I highly recommend this course
Eagles nest
Loved the course besides it being soaked but overall loved it definitely will be back... But some of the staff could be a little nicer and that's all I'm saying....
