Kiva Dunes Golf Course

From greens, fairways, tee boxes and sand traps the entire course conditions were very poor for the prices charged (even for discounted prices). Lack of rangers keeping the pace of play going. A lot of ground under repair (GUR) areas and the course needs to repair ball marks on all greens each day (I do understand a half of a day of golfers played before me but there are just to many to say this problem happened in a half day). Same issue with sand traps, the course does not appear to rack every trap every day which is expected from a high priced resort course.

Kiva Dunes should either advertise clearly that they have poor off season conditions or lower the prices substantially until they invest into high level resort course manicuring, over seeding etc. that would allow higher price point. Hopefully the course gets a lot better in season??

Golfed Kivi Dunes in early March. Course layout and conditions were great. Greens very fast put true roll. Tough course with some interesting challenges. Staff is great

This has to be one of my favorite courses I’ve ever played. It has a similar vibe and feel to it as the ocean course at Kiawah with the openness and Oceanside sand dune. Pictures really don’t do it justice, it’s difficult to capture its feel in an image. Staff was incredibly friendly, food was great. Even with packed course pace of play was great, finished 18 in under 4 hours with many groups of 4 ahead of our 4some. Course offers good challenges and a unique layout. The only slight knock against it I would say is at a course of this level I would expect GPS carts. But they do give you yardage books with your scorecard which I enjoyed more than using GPS. It’s a long drive out but would recommend Kiva over anything else in the area.

First timer and fell for the hype….its not all that.

Well maintained course. Excellent greens , good fairways n tee boxes. Carts had extra plush leather bench seats and no GPS. Course clues by starter were helpful. Tried the grill n bar afterwards which had a nice view of green 18. Decent food and service.

Course is always in good shape and greens are always great/fast.

In the carts promptly and were super helpful. The Marshall was on top of pace of play big fan of that. Really pretty course

Was a single and was paired with a twosome (members). Great guys and they made the round fun. Was here on vacation and the weather was terrific. Course was in great shape and staff at check in was very friendly.. Was originally scheduled to play at 928 and checked in and that was confirmed. After warming up some on the range the starter came up and asked me my name and then he told me I was going off at 920. I told him I was at 928 and he grumbled that he had me at 920. I said no problem I can go off early, but that I reserved 928. I dont think he liked to have his God complex challenged. I wrapped up my range session and went to the first tee and have a great round. Never saw the starter again, which was nice.

Very friendly staff. Course is in really great shape. Nice fairways and very good greens. Definitely will play it again.

Course was in amazing condition compared to what other courses look like currently. First time playing a course that cost over a hundred to play. Did not disappoint was worth every penny. Would highly recommend lives up to its top reviews.

Nice course , staff was very pleasant, ranger came by and explained why the back 9 would be playing slower, the greens had been aerated recently but by another week will be in excellent condition. I will play this course again.

Excellent course. Great staff I enjoy the mix of water grasses, trees and rough. Makes one think. Not easy but super fun.

We had big expectations for our 1st time at Kiva Dunes. The staff and amenities were terrific. Pace of play was a bit slow, really got backed up on the back 9. The ranger tried to move things along, but it was a long hot day.

The course routing is a bit generic, with only a few really good holes. No bad holes, but nothing that really stood out. Was hoping for better views. For the price, there are better tracts in the area.
